In the silent chambers of the heart’s domain,
Where blood flows through arteries, a rhythmic chain,
Lies a peril, silent but severe,
A foe unseen, yet lurking near.

Myocardial infarction, its name profound,
A thief that steals without a sound,
Blocking paths where life’s essence flows,
Leaving scars where once the heartbeat rose.

Atherosclerosis, a plaque-built wall,
Restricts the passage, a deadly sprawl,
Coronary arteries, clogged with strife,
Strangling the heart, stealing its life.

Symptoms whisper, then loudly call,
Chest pains grip, as shadows fall,
Shortness of breath, a suffocating veil,
Nausea, sweating, a haunting tale.

In arms, back, neck, and jaw it creeps,
A sinister grasp, as the body weeps,
Prompt attention, a beacon bright,
To save the heart from eternal night.

Medications wield their healing might,
Dissolving clots in the dead of night,
Easing pain, lowering pressure’s weight,
As surgeons work to alter fate.

Angioplasty, bypass, techniques refined,
To restore the heart, a mission assigned,
To mend the damage, to rebuild the way,
For life to dance in the light of day.

Yet in the shadows, risk factors lurk,
Smoking’s embrace, blood pressures berserk,
Cholesterol’s rise, diabetes’ call,
Obesity’s burden, a looming pall.

But hope still flickers, a flame to ignite,
In lifestyle changes, in choices right,
Quitting smoke, embracing health’s embrace,
A diet wise, a fitness pace.

In these steps lies the power to evade,
The grasp of infarction, its shadowed shade,
To let the heart beat strong and free,
In the symphony of life’s grand decree.
