Carcinogen

Apr 27, 2024

In shadows deep, unseen they dwell,
Carcinogens, a silent spell.
In forms diverse, they lurk around,
In chemicals, and fibers bound.

Radiation's subtle kiss,
A catalyst for the abyss.
Viruses, with their stealthy guise,
Infecting cells, where cancer lies.

DNA, a delicate thread,
By carcinogens, it's led astray.
Mutations dance in chaotic spree,
Uncontrolled growth, a grim decree.

Asbestos whispers in the air,
Tobacco smoke, a deadly snare.
Ultraviolet rays, a subtle thief,
Stealing health with every brief relief.

In factories, where chemicals brew,
Carcinogens weave their toxic brew.
HPV and hepatitis in their spree,
Infecting bodies, sowing misery.

Identification, a beacon light,
Guiding us through the darkest night.
Regulation, a shield so strong,
Against these foes, we must prolong.

For in this battle, lives are at stake,
Carcinogens, we must forsake.
In public health, our duty clear,
To minimize risk, to hold fear near.

So let us heed this solemn call,
To banish carcinogens, one and all.
For in our unity, we shall find,
A safer world for humankind.
