In a room where silence hums,
Beneath the lights so bright,
A kidney lies, a tale begun,
Of struggle and the fight.

For cancer's grip, a shadow spreads,
Upon that organ small,
A surgeon’s hand, with courage treads,
To save a life, their call.

When function fades, no longer whole,
A kidney bids adieu,
From injuries or age's toll,
Its work at last is through.

For some, a gift of life is made,
A donor’s selfless plea,
A kidney shared, with love displayed,
For hope and legacy.

Infection's fire, unchecked, untamed,
May claim its rightful place,
But swift the blade, the beast is tamed,
To offer healing's grace.

Through trauma’s clash, or damage deep,
The body fights to heal,
Yet when the scars grow far too steep,
A nephrectomy’s seal.

Radical or partial, the choice is clear,
Depending on the state,
Each cut, each move, with patient care,
Defines the patient’s fate.

Be it open or through a scope,
The kidney’s path is set,
A team aligned with skill and hope,
In surgery’s dance, they’re met.

To heal, to save, to give a chance,
A kidney’s course to flee,
The nephrectomy, a final glance,
At what will come to be.
