Knee pain, a burden many know,
From life’s harsh twist or a heavy blow.
Injury strikes the ligaments deep,
Where tears and ruptures often creep.

ACL torn in a sudden jolt,
Or MCL from a sports assault.
The meniscus, worn with every bend,
Can tear in a twist we can’t defend.

Fractures crack from falls we take,
The patella shattered, muscles ache.
Tendonitis, when tendons strain,
Jumper’s knee ignites the pain.

Overuse brings its own affliction,
With runner’s knee, a painful friction.
Bursitis swells, the bursae cry,
From pressure placed too long, too high.

Osteoarthritis grinds with age,
As cartilage thins, it sets the stage.
Rheumatoid strikes with cruel intent,
A joint inflamed and deeply bent.

Gout’s crystals build, sharp as knives,
Each movement in agony thrives.
Infections, too, bring knees to swell,
With septic pain, a joint can’t dwell.

Rest and ice can ease the strain,
Compression helps to numb the pain.
Therapy builds strength anew,
Medications dull what you go through.

But when all else fails, and pain won't flee,
Surgery may be the final key.
Though knee pain lingers, treatments gleam,
A path to healing and renewed dream.
