In the twilight of life, a shadow creeps near,
A thief in the night, whispering fear.
Sarcopenia, the name, it softly calls,
A gradual decline as muscle mass falls.

Around age fifty, it starts to unfold,
An insidious story of strength growing old.
With every lost fiber, mobility wanes,
As the dance of our youth becomes laced with pains.

A sedentary lifestyle, poor choices in food,
Chronic conditions can darken the mood.
Inflammation and age, they conspire in stealth,
Stealing the vigor, diminishing health.

Frailty emerges, a delicate guise,
With increased risks that silently rise.
A stumble, a fall, independence at stake,
As the weight of the years begins to quake.

Yet hope lies ahead, with wisdom in sight,
Resistance training can ignite the light.
Lifting the burden, with every small gain,
Building the strength, diminishing pain.

Protein-rich meals, a nutritional balm,
In the battle for muscle, they help restore calm.
Vitamin D’s sunshine brightens the way,
Supporting the body to keep frailty at bay.

Embrace physical movement, let muscles engage,
In the story of life, be the wise sage.
For sarcopenia may linger, but we shall not yield,
With care and with courage, our strength shall be healed.

So let’s cherish our bodies, the wonders they hold,
In the journey of aging, let our hearts be bold.
Together we’ll fight, with resilience and grace,
For every lost muscle, we’ll find a new place.
