Amid the whispers of crowded halls,
Norovirus silently crawls.
First, it lingers on surfaces bare,
Then leaps unseen into the air.

Suddenly, nausea grips the frame,
Followed by symptoms that earn its fame.
Moreover, fatigue takes hold with might,
While fever chills creep in by night.

As quickly as it strikes its prey,
It spreads in a most alarming way.
Next, it finds its path through touch,
In water, food—contamination is such.

Though you wash with haste, beware!
Soap beats sanitizers in this affair.
Furthermore, fruits must be rinsed with care,
To keep this foe from finding you there.

Since no cure exists for this viral beast,
Hydration and rest are your needed feast.
For relief, remedies ease the pain,
Though time alone heals what will remain.

Meanwhile, prevention guards the gate,
Stopping the spread before it’s too late.
However, crowded spaces pose their threat,
In schools, ships, or restaurants met.

Finally, the storm begins to wane,
The body’s strength reclaimed again.
Yet remember this foe, though you recover,
Its return lies just beneath the cover.

So wash and clean, disinfect with might,
Because norovirus hides in plain sight.
Together, we fight this unseen foe,
To keep it from spreading and laying us low.
