Beneath the sky so vast and wide,
Upon red soil where people stride,
Day by day, their feet endure,
Yet soon, a pain they can't ignore.

At first, a tingle, mild yet strange,
Then swelling comes, a drastic change.
As time moves on, the limbs grow tight,
Thickened skin, a heavy plight.

Because the earth is rich but cruel,
Its tiny particles become the fuel.
Slowly creeping, unseen scars,
Though no parasite leaves its mark.

However, hope is not all lost,
For knowledge fights this painful cost.
By wearing shoes and washing feet,
We break the cycle of defeat.

Meanwhile, care can ease the pain,
Through bandage wraps and foot’s refrain.
With healing hands and lifted rest,
The weary find a moment’s rest.

Thus, awareness spreads like light,
Across the hills, through day and night.
If we stand and take a stand,
Podoconiosis can be banned.
