A scratch, a scrape, a wound so slight,
At first, it stings, but not with fright.
Although it burns, it will not stay,
For healing starts without delay.

First of all, the skin turns red,
A sign that cells are widely spread.
Meanwhile, swelling joins the scene,
Yet soon enough, the pain will wean.

Because the cut is not too deep,
No muscle, bone, or nerves will weep.
Instead, a clot will form with grace,
Thus sealing up the wounded place.

After that, the skin may peel,
Yet underneath, new layers heal.
Likewise, a blister, smooth and round,
Will fade away without a sound.

In order to prevent distress,
You must take care and not make a mess.
So, clean the wound and dry it well,
Then cover it so germs won’t dwell.

Moreover, watch for signs of harm,
If redness spreads, sound the alarm.
Otherwise, in just a week,
The skin regains its flawless streak.

In conclusion, wounds so slight,
Though painful first, will heal up right.
Just treat them well and soon you’ll see,
Your skin restored as it should be.
