In the depths of wounds,
Where pain and infection looms,
A biofilm silently consumes,
And complicates the healing rooms.

A slimy film, a sticky mesh,
It clings to tissues, it won't refresh,
Bacteria, fungi, all in a mesh,
A colony that can't be suppressed.

It shields the germs from drugs and cells,
A fortress strong, where nothing quells,
A breeding ground where evil dwells,
And inflammation forever swells.

But hope is not lost, for science knows,
The secrets to breaking biofilm's throes,
Enzymes, antibodies, and silver foes,
Can penetrate and crush the foes.

With perseverance and care,
And a treatment that's always there,
Biofilm can be made rare,
And healing can be made fair.

So let us not lose heart,
When wounds don't heal from the start,
For science is making its mark,
And we'll overcome biofilm's dark.
