Tinnitus

Oct 20, 2023
In the silence of the night's embrace,
Whispers of a world within, a hidden space,
A ringing, buzzing, ceaseless song,
Tinnitus, an uninvited throng.

Not in the realm of earthly sound,
But in the ears, a mystery is found,
A symphony of internal strife,
A melody of unending life.

From hearing loss, its origins spring,
Or loud noises, their echoes cling,
Earwax, like a barricade, it forms,
Infections come like passing storms.

Medications may sow the seed,
A side effect that none would need,
Medical conditions, they may conspire,
Tinnitus, their unwelcome choir.

Injuries to head and neck, they play their part,
Disrupting the rhythm of the heart,
Vascular problems, a silent knell,
Alterations in blood's gentle swell.

Stress and anxiety, they heighten the tone,
Making tinnitus's presence known,
Amid the quiet, they amplify,
The hum that never says goodbye.

Yet in the midst of this internal quest,
Hope persists, an unwavering guest,
Hearing aids and therapy's grace,
To help find a more tranquil space.

Tinnitus, a riddle in the ear's domain,
A challenge to endure, to bear the strain,
Seek guidance, let professionals say,
How to quiet this internal display.
