In the heart's quiet dance, a rhythm beats,
A symphony of life in pulsing feats.
The cardiac cycle, a waltz so grand,
Guided by Nature's masterful hand.

First, in systole's firm embrace,
The heart contracts, a steady pace.
Atrial chambers squeeze, then ventricles too,
Blood flows onward, a crimson debut.

From atria to ventricles, the journey's begun,
A cascade of motion, a race to be won.
Then ventricular systole, strong and true,
Pushes blood forth, to arteries anew.

But hark! In diastole, a gentle rest,
The heart chambers relax, feeling blessed.
Blood trickles in, from veins afar,
Filling the heart, like a radiant star.

Early diastole, a tranquil reprieve,
As the heart prepares, its duty to achieve.
Then late in diastole, a quiet refrain,
As ventricles wait, to start again.

This cycle, orchestrated, in perfect array,
By electrical whispers, in night and day.
SA node, AV node, their signals convey,
Guiding the heart, in its rhythmic ballet.

So let us marvel at this wonder divine,
The cardiac cycle, in its design.
A dance of life, a symphony grand,
Within our chests, where dreams expand.
