Chickenpox, a viral foe,
With spots that come and quickly grow.
Rashes red, with blisters bright,
Bringing fever through the night.

Tiny spots, a telltale sign,
Fluid-filled, they form a line.
Itching, scratching, can't ignore,
Skin discomfort at its core.

Through the air, it spreads with ease,
Cough or sneeze, a subtle breeze.
Contact close, it finds a way,
Spreads to others, day by day.

Adults and young, both can fall,
Newborns too, they risk it all.
Complications, though they're rare,
Can cause more than a scare.

Vaccination stands as guard,
Two doses, protection hard.
Avoiding others, keep away,
Till all the spots have had their say.

Calamine and oatmeal bath,
Soothe the skin, reduce the wrath.
Antivirals, sometimes given,
Help the healing, aid the living.

Hydration key, rest is too,
Till the spots are faded blue.
Chickenpox, though days may drag,
Soon becomes a memory’s tag.

Once it’s gone, immunity,
Stays for life, a guarantee.
But beware, for shingles hides,
Dormant till the time it bides.
